Profile
Nelson Kumaranayake began his legal education in 1996 and obtained his LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, in 2000. He was admitted to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in 2002 and has since contributed to the profession through practice, mentorship and institutional development.
He completed his Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Colombo in 2021, and has mentored and trained junior lawyers since 2010 with an emphasis on ethical responsibility, academic discipline and professional competence.
In 2022 he founded Nelson Kumaranayake Law Associates to deliver structured, ethical and effective legal services through a collaborative, multidisciplinary team — a firm recognised for its commitment to the protection of individual liberty and the rights of citizens.
